My granda or "Pappy" as we called him died suddenly on 29th September 2004. He had suffered a stroke 6months previously and recovered well, as if he had never had been not well. My mum was pregnant at the time of the stroke and in august my little sister Jessica arrived and Pappy was thrilled. Sadly just 6 weeks later he woke up in the morning and by the afternoon was gone.

Harry was married to Margaret for 46 years and were blissfully happy. They had 4 children together Shirley, Robert, Liz (my mum) and George. He also had 10 grandchildren Grant, Gary, Lauren, Terry, Martin, Craig , Max, Georgia, Shannon and Jessica.

Harry enjoyed gardening and the outdoors (which explains why he always had a good tan). He was also fond of a good drink.

We miss him loads and will never forget him.

Miss you loads Pappy. XXX

I think of you often

think of you often
and make no outward show,
But what it means to lose you,
no one will ever know

You wished no one farewell,
not even said good-bye,
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.

You are not forgotten
nor will you ever be,
As long as life and memories last,
I will remember thee.

To some you may be forgotten,
to others a part of the past,
But to me who loved you dearly,
your memories will always last.

Nothing can be more beautiful
than the memories I have of you.
To me, you were someone special,
God must have thought so too!

If tears could build a staircase
and memories a lane,
I would walk all the way to Heaven,
and bring you back again.

Death is Nothing at All

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort,
without the ghost of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
there is absolutely unbroken continuity....

Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval,
Somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well
